I recently visited NYC to attend TeamNatural's Living No Lye Tour. I promised Constance, the founder I would support so I had to show her some love. We actually met up the next day after the tour stop for brunch. We ate brunch at a spot called SUEDE NYC. Oh my fro, the restaurant was sooooo DOPE. Its in Brooklyn and I highly suggest their salmon and crab omelet. Mmmmmm! The vibe of that place is just flawless. For brunch I styled my JustFab, Danae sandals. They are no longer available but they do have a similar style, the CLAIRES available right now. Their styles sell out fast so if you are loving them...get them now.
The Danae sandals are a classic ankle strap sandal with heels. I can rock these for about 3 hours and then I'm reaching for my flip flops. Lol! I love these sandals because of the vibrant colors and pattern. They were my pop of color because I decided to wear a simple outfit with some bold accents. I found these amazing distressed jeans from my local Marshall's store but I found a pair for you below too...just in case you want to recreate this look. With the denim I added a white button down blouse and this fierce Jennifer Lopez jacket from Kohl's. The jacket was originally $70 but I got it for $28. Yaaassss to Kohl's deals.
This entire outfit just represents me so well. For a long time I would try to dress up to please others at events. Finally I've come to the realization you have to dress for YOURSELF...to make yourself for amazing, confident and comfortable. This look is comfy with the jeans, dressy because of the heels, edgy because of the gold accents on the jacket, and has a 90s girl swag with the bamboo earrings. THIS IS ME! If you love this look, I've recreated it for you. Check it out...trust me...its a perfect look for brunch!
In the designing mood I created these new DOPE HAIR SPORTS BRAS. Rocking sportswear as everyday wear is a new trend. If you want to be on trend keep reading this post for tips.
Just like most of the items in my boutique you should stick to more muted tones like black, white, and gray. Doing so will give your sportswear a more street wear feel. I personally like basketball style clothing but there are so many different sports, right? Well that's the next tip...don't mix sports themes. You will ridiculous if you wear a basketball jersey with a football snapback. Can you imagine? Lol. Speaking of hats...I feel as though that is the perfect accessory to add to your sporty look. Have fun with it...find a leather snapback! Shoes are also important and can add flare to your overall look. The best sneaker out there is of course, Jordans...and more specifically retro Jordans. I also like to add Air Force 1s too. If you aren't into going overboard with the sporty trend you can also find other pieces that just have a sporty feel. For example, mesh...that gives off that basketball jersey vibe. Finally, if you have the body...show some skin. That leads me to the DOPE HAIR sports bras I designed. Rock the sports bra with some baggy sweat pants, heels, and a leather jacket. There are so many options- dress it up or dress it down. I hope this post gave you some ideas on how to rock the SPORTSWEAR TREND.
