Oh I just love being natural. If you are like me you LOVE BIG HAIR too! Being natural for so long your mind totally forgets and gets over the straight look. For my latest tutorial I did do a blow and flat iron job with EVA NYC. The change was dramatic in my opinion. I like it but then I thought...NOW WHAT DO I DO? LOL! I'm sure a lot of my viewers were thinking the same thing so I decided to do a chunky flat twist out technique to give this style some cute beach waves.
Our strands are super stretched, the hair cuticle should be extremely flat so frizz should be non-existent. I do have some back up products to help in that area as well. Watch this detailed tutorial for lots of tips! I also I have a shorter version of the video if you just want to get to the tutorial! LOL! Yall know I love to connect with you all! The link to the shorter version will pop up if you tap the upper right corner of the video. Enjoy!
I recently visited NYC to attend TeamNatural's Living No Lye Tour. I promised Constance, the founder I would support so I had to show her some love. We actually met up the next day after the tour stop for brunch. We ate brunch at a spot called SUEDE NYC. Oh my fro, the restaurant was sooooo DOPE. Its in Brooklyn and I highly suggest their salmon and crab omelet. Mmmmmm! The vibe of that place is just flawless. For brunch I styled my JustFab, Danae sandals. They are no longer available but they do have a similar style, the CLAIRES available right now. Their styles sell out fast so if you are loving them...get them now.
The Danae sandals are a classic ankle strap sandal with heels. I can rock these for about 3 hours and then I'm reaching for my flip flops. Lol! I love these sandals because of the vibrant colors and pattern. They were my pop of color because I decided to wear a simple outfit with some bold accents. I found these amazing distressed jeans from my local Marshall's store but I found a pair for you below too...just in case you want to recreate this look. With the denim I added a white button down blouse and this fierce Jennifer Lopez jacket from Kohl's. The jacket was originally $70 but I got it for $28. Yaaassss to Kohl's deals.
This entire outfit just represents me so well. For a long time I would try to dress up to please others at events. Finally I've come to the realization you have to dress for YOURSELF...to make yourself for amazing, confident and comfortable. This look is comfy with the jeans, dressy because of the heels, edgy because of the gold accents on the jacket, and has a 90s girl swag with the bamboo earrings. THIS IS ME! If you love this look, I've recreated it for you. Check it out...trust me...its a perfect look for brunch!
